Xelic is a software-engineering firm specializing in microchip design and embedded networking technologies. Anticipating growth with the launch of several new product lines, Xelic wanted to replace their original home-grown site with something that would stand out in the industry. We worked with them to develop a stylish, modern site that conforms to HTML-standards and is easy to maintain.

Rochester-Area 20-Somethings (R.A.T.S.)

The Rochester-Area 20-Somethings is a social group for 20- to 29-year-olds in and around Rochester. R.A.T.S. helps its members build social and professional contacts through a variety of activities, including game nights, museum visits, softball leages, and more. When we took over the site, the design was over three years old and had been modified by several former webmasters. We modernized the look with a standards-compliant design that scales well to any browser. We also added features like a blog that lets the groups leadership quickly add important news to the site and "RATSChat," an online discussion board. Central to the R.A.T.S. site is its events calendar. We created a database backend that allows the calendar to be updated easily and automatically removes events that have passed from the homepage.

Boom Towne Canine Center

Boom Towne is the Rochester area's premier canine facility. Offering a wide range of services from boarding and grooming to training and doggie daycare, Boomtowne will make your dog feel at home, when he can't be. We began maintaining the Boom Towne site shortly after the facility opened. We developed a variety of tools for the site, such as an database-driven system for announcing training classes and special events, and an online reservation system that makes it easy for clients to sign up for those events.

Tay House Troop 19

Tay House is one of Rochester's oldest and most active Boy Scout troops. When the troop committee approached us, they were looking for a site that would help promote the troop to prospective scouts. In addition to recruitment, the site we've designed is used to alert scouts and parents of important news, to update past scouts on the troops current activities, to advertise fundraising activities (such as the troop's annual Christmas tree sale), and even to give the children of former scouts a look into their fathers' pasts. The site has been designed to make it easy for the troop staff to edit the content as necessary.

Lake Country Properties

Lake Country Properties is a vacation property management company located in Bridgton, ME. The designers of this site contacted us to develop an easy way for their client to manage the details of the many properties that they manage. We developed the administrative backend to the site, allowing the client to log in and add new homes or modify the photos, amenities, and prices of existing ones. Changes are reflected in searches immediately, ensuring that site visitors always see the most relevant rental information.
